A quarter of Brexit voters believe they were lied to by the Leave campaign, poll finds

A quarter of leave voters believe they were lied by the Leave campaign during the EU referendum, polling shows.

The survey by Opinium found 26 percent of people who voted for Brexit feel they were misled by the Leave campaign’s promises.

The poll of 2,006 people also found Britain would remain in the EU if the referendum was held today, with 47 percent voting remain and 44 percent voting leave.

A core Leave campaign argument was the lie that the NHS would receive an extra £350m a week following Brexit.

In May, health secretary Jeremy Hunt admitted the Brexiteer’s pledge was not deliverable.
