Boris Johnson has retreated from his position that the EU can “go whistle” for a Brexit divorce bill.
The Foreign Secretary accepted this morning that the UK will pay its legal obligations as it departs from the bloc.
Johnson said: “Of course, we will meet our obligations. We should pay not a penny more, not a penny less of what we think our legal obligations amount to.”
The U-turn comes just days after Theresa May about-faced over the UK’s future relationship with European Court of Justice.
